Logging In
Why should I log in?
- You must be logged in to this website to access member benefits.
- Benefits include: significant training discounts, private member directory, board resources (board members only), media and PR tools, our executive director evaluation template and more.
- You can also update your contact information and renew your membership while logged in.
How do I log in?
- On the left side of the screen there is a square green button that says "login" and a place to type your email address and password (it is the area circled in red in the picture).
- Type in your email address and password (see below for password help).
- Then click the login button.
- If the system does not recognize your email address, see below ("do I already have an account?").
Do I already have an account?
- We have created accounts for CEDAM members using the email addresses you gave us in your membership application. You should have received an email welcoming you to the new system.
- If you are a member but did not receive an email, you may not be in our system, or we might have a different email address for you. Contact Katie Fritz at fritz@cedam.info to get it fixed.
- If you are not a member, you will need to join CEDAM to create a member account and access member benefits.
What is my password?
- If you have not logged in before, you will need to create a password. Unfortunately, there is not a "create password" link. Instead, click "forgot password" and enter your email address when prompted. You will receive a link by email. Click the link and create a new password.
- If you cannot remember your password, it's easy to reset. Click "forgot password" and enter your email address when prompted. You will receive a link by email. Click the link and create a new password.
Training and Events
Do I need an account to register for an event?
- If you are a CEDAM member, you must log in to receive your member registration rates. See instructions above. If you do not log in, you will have to pay non-member rates.
- If you are not a CEDAM member, you can register without logging in.
Can I pay for for multiple CCDI trainings at once?
- Yes! Once logged in to your account, register for each training you wish to attend. Your contact information will auto-fill, so it should be a quick process. After each registration, you will be taken to your profile page and you will see all of your outstanding invoices. When you're ready, you can make a single payment using the Pay Online button or by mailing us a check.
How do I pay for my events?
- Pay with credit card by selecting the online payment option at the end of your event registration. You will be taken to a PayPal page. If the page is prompting you to sign into PayPal, scroll down to find the "pay with credit card" option. You can also pay outstanding invoices with credit card at any time by logging in, selecting View Profile (lower left corner) and selecting Invoices and Payments.
- Pay with check or money order by selecting the manual payment option at the end of your registration. You will receive an invoice in your email with payment instructions.

How do I access my free single-day training?
- Practitioner and Partner members can send one person from their organization to one single-day training for free. To claim this benefit, register under the normal member rate, add a comment in the registration form and do not pay. We will settle your invoice with a "special discount" and you will receive a confirmation email.
How do I get my free ticket to the CEDAM Annual Membership Celebration?
- Practitioner and Partner members can send one person from their organization to our membership celebration in April for free.
- To claim this benefit, do not sign up for the event through the Building Michigan Communities Conference registration. If you pay through your conference registration, you will not be reimbursed.
- Instead, register for the event on our website. Registration will be available by February and there will be a cutoff date (TBD).
- If you would like to send more than one person, additional tickets can be purchased at the discounted member rate.
Renewing Membership
When is my renewal due?
- We request that you renew by February 15. Members who join or renew by Feb. 15 will be entered into a drawing for a free CEDAM training or a $50 Visa gift card.
- If you do not renew, you will lose access to your member benefits on March 31.
Who should renew for my organization?
- Only primary contacts at Practitioner and Partner organizations can renew for their organizations. When you renew, all additional contacts at your organization will be renewed as well. Individual members renew on an individual basis.
- If you received a renewal notice email, you are the primary contact.
- To check who the primary contact for your organization is, look up your organization in the appropriate member directory.
- To change the primary contact for your organization, contact Katie Fritz (fritz@cedam.info).
How do I renew my membership?
- Log in to the Member Portal (see above for help logging in).
- Confirm or change your membership level and contact information.
- Choose your areas of interest - this will affect what newsletters and invitations you receive.
- Finish up and pay. You can pay right away or get an invoice for later.
How do I pay for my membership?
- Once you confirm your registration, you will be taken to your member profile and see all outstanding invoices. You will also receive an email invoice.

- Regardless of how you pay, you will receive a receipt by email for your records.

Do I have to renew online?
- Because most of our member benefits and event registrations are web-based, we strongly encourage you to renew your membership online.
- However, if this is a hardship, you may download and complete our 2012 membership application [pdf] and mail it, with a check, to the address above.
How do I add a contact/employee for my organization?
- If you are the primary contact (see above) you can add more people to the Member Portal when you renew. Select Add Bundle Members when prompted and enter their information. Contacts must use their email address to log in to the Member Portal.
